Adversity is a part of life. No matter how smoothly things have gone or are going, we can be assured there will be challenges lurking around the corner. We can either live in constant fear of these difficulties occurring, or we can make choices which will prepare us to boldly meet and overcome our problems.
Here are three ways to do the latter:
First, choose words of power. Using words of faith, gratitude, optimism, strength and encouragement will begin shaping us into people who embody those very traits. The transformative power in using these types of words borders on being miraculous.
Next, choose to play the game, instead of fight the battle. The more we see our lives as an ongoing battle, the more we focus on fear, tension and conflict. Even when there are high stakes involved, if we can learn to courageously maintain our ability to smile, laugh, and be optimistic, we’ll be more effective, more creative, and less stressed.
Finally, let’s choose to be bigger than anything that can happen to us. If we make the decision that we can handle anything life throws at us, amazingly we will find the power to somehow do just that. Focusing on patiently, persistently “pressing on” toward our goals will strengthen us and help put each challenge in the context of achieving the success we are destined to reach.
Let’s focus on implementing one of these choices each week, and we’ll quickly start seeing a greatly improved ability to courageously overcome the inevitable obstacles of life.
